The Texas Central high-speed railroad project was identified as a top infrastructure project in North America last week by the infrastructure advocacy group CG/LA in its annual “Strategic North American Infrastructure Report,” which identifies the “most imaginative and transformative” American infrastructure projects. The annual industry report is a product of a rigorous, six-month research and analysis effort by CG/LA, in which, industry professionals identify projects across the continent that represent long-term strategic value.

The Strategic 100 report called the Texas Central high-speed train project “a game changer… crucial in advancing public and business interests,” and “the region’s most dynamic and innovative change agent,” generating $36 billion in direct economic impact over 25 years, creating 10,000 jobs each year of construction and 1,500 permanent jobs. The report went on to mention the importance of the project to additional local job creation, business development, long-term investing and more.

Norman Anderson, president and CEO of CG/LA, further lauded the project, saying “[The Texas train] offers top-flight engineering, ground-breaking uses for cutting-edge technology and financial/policy innovation, serving as a symbol for who we are and what we can be.”

Shinkansen infrastructureTexas is a land of Big Ideas, and this project is the latest example of an innovative, forward-thinking approach that will benefit generations of Americans. This high-speed railroad is planting the seed of a new industry in Texas that will grow technology and jobs in America.

Already utilizing the world’s safest technology, the recent additions of global construction and engineering firm Salini Impregilo as the lead of the civil construction consortium and Spanish company Renfe (along with Adif) to serve as the train’s operating partner, are just the latest examples of how this project is attracting the world’s best talent and experience to #buildthistrain
